We Have the Mind of Christ by Rev. Rudy Flores
1 Cor 2:16 Paul is telling the Corinthians that they (and we) have the mind of Christ. Paul was not content in knowing that the Christian believers were only saved. He wanted them to grow in the Holy Spirit and have a revelation that they had the mind of Christ through the Spirit of God. Who are we in Jesus Christ? We can discern between what is false and pure and our faith is not founded in the wisdom of man, but in the power of God. (1 Cor 2:4-5). Carnal Mind We as children of The Most High should always do our best to seek those things which are above. When we set our eyes on the worldly things, we begin to give fruits of the world. We begin to act and think as the world. The Bible strongly encourages us to set our eyes on the things that are above so that we will desire to be Christ-like, to desire to do what Jesus would want us to do. Being carnal minded leads to death whereas being spiritually minded is life and peace. I think that for us Christians, it is obvious of which we should choose to be. Study: Col 3:1-2, Rom 8:5-9, Num 13:30-33 Mind of Christ - Gives fruits - Brings repentance - Separates us from sin - Desires the spiritual - Seeks to disciple others - Blesses when he is cursed - Does not pay good with evil 2 Cor 4:4 ~ In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them. Let us decide to be spiritually minded!!! |
