Christ is Looking for People Who are Willing to Persevere! By Dr. Rudy Flores A definition of perseverance is to continue with what you have started, to last permanently for a long time. To continue what we have started until it is finished is the example that Christ left for us. He persevered until that final day! Although satan thought he had conquered Jesus, he had it all wrong. Jesus persevered until the end! In the midst of our journey we will be faced with many things that may want to interrupt the plans of God in our lives. Often times these interruptions can cause us great setbacks that could lead to the unfulfilled will and plan of God in our lives. It's at these times that we've got to encourage ourselves with the Word of God to renew our minds with the Word and see through the eyes of Christ. We cannot be double minded people. We've got to be so focused on God and on His Word that when satan wants to throw some awful thoughts into our minds, we will immediately react and reject them in the name of Jesus. You can tell a lot of a person by the way they conduct themselves. Without realizing it, many times we conduct ourselves by what we feel on the inside. If we feel sad, we too, will look sad. If we feel joyful, we too, will look joyful, etc. Our attitude is the main strength that determines if we will succeed or fail. For some, attitude represents a difficulty in every opportunity and for others, it represents an opportunity in every difficulty. If we are people that are willing to persevere, then we must have a change of heart, change of attitude and change of will. In other words, if we fill our heart with the Word of God, our attitude will reflect what our heart feels and our will, will no longer be our will, but His will in us. One we are able to accomplish this, we will be more than conquerors! Look to Christ for strength, motivation, encouragement, joy and anything else that you could possibly need, and He will give it to you. A tip to persevere, is to be Christ like... He is a great model of perseverance!!!! |
