A Visionary Man by Rev. Rudy Flores A man with a vision (Heb 13:17) is a person: - That sees very far - That will accomplish much - That will achieve their goals A man that God has called and given a vision needs to understand that they will teach more by their example. Words are taken away by the wind but we will give an account of every word, good or bad (Matt 12:36-37). In other words, idle words have no true meaning and have no effect, yet we will give an account for every idle word. On the other hand, every good word that we speak, will edify and build up ourselves and others. We speak life to ourselves and to others. We speak blessings to ourselves and others. As with every idle word, we too, will give an account for every good word. If we are going to stand before God to give an account for every word, let's make it a point that we are not going to have to give an account for idle words, because at this point in time, we will have no excuses. We need to be obedient. Practical and orderly submission of your personal will dictates what kind of vision you have. Obedience dictates where God will place you. If you are able to submit to your authority then God will be able to place you in authority. God cannot entrust us with things that we ourselves are not able to carry out. If we can't submit or respect our authority, then how can He possibly place us in authority. We can't say that we will practice obedience when we are in authority, because we can't fool God. He knows if we are being obedient in the present. If we are not obedient in the present time, that will influence our future leadership position. Always remember that a position does not make a person, a person makes a position. In other words, not just because you are a deacon automatically makes you wise and humble, wisdom and humility make the deacon. The same is true in any leadership position. Christ is the head of the Church (Ef 4:15). He desires that we grow in love. Christ has called pastors to be the head of the body of Christ (Ef 4:11-12). He, Himself, constituted pastors. Servants must obey their masters (Ef 6:5-8) Let us seek to be a people of vision. A people that sows for a big harvest. A people that has a vision for God's kingdom to grow. A people that will give of themselves for the vision that God has placed in their lives to come to pass.
